List of numbers requested to NASCAR August 28, 2007

Here’s a TIDBIT: Regarding the use of the numbers by Hendrick Motorsports for use by Dale Junior – I have heard now that NASCAR has received an “informal request” for a list of numbers for Hendrick Motorsports for use asking them to “hold” a list of numbers. Nothing “official” but a list of numbers including #51, 58, 81, 82, #38.

please let it be 38…… i can live with 81, but 38 would be great

I like the 81! Easier for those with tattoos to fix!
I think they should request the use of fractions…8 1/2 would be cool…Any word on the sponsor?
Could some of those numbers be for trucks or Busch cars? just a thought.
The 51 and 58 would combine Hendrick family tradition with Earnhardt tradition.
The 5 from Hendricks car and the 1 (the first car number run by DEI) and the 8 is for obvious reasons. The amount of numbers proves just one thing as far as I’m concerned. They’re NOT ready to have people know exactly what they are doing yet.
I would LOVE the 38 – perfect! Honoring both his Dad and Grandfather – besides, Jr won 2 Busch championships driving the 3 so its his number too!
The #38 would be perfect for Jr.. I hope he can get it! I like the idea of the #81 but I look at it as the #8 from DEI and the #1 of Truex from DEI. I just think that keeps him kinda connected to them because he drove that number with them. If he’s going to make a fresh start then lets start with a number to honor his dad and jr. not anything that he used at DEI! Just my thoughts!
I’m stoked!!! To me it doesn’t matter which number he uses or who his sponsor is….I just can’t wait until 08!!! Rock on Junior!
Any number would be great…….but #38 would be the best! Good Luck and looking forward to the announcement of number and sponsorship.
What does anyone think about “88″
Think about this Rudd is retiring so if they could get the number it could be used to market the familar indentity of the number 8 & Jr.
Something like this an Earnhardt going for the 8th Earnhardt championship in 08
Just a thought, If your a real Earnhardt fan you will love whatever they come up with as long as JR is in a car and able to challange for the lead and wins.
